If you go to www.ancestryandgenealogy.com/essexh.asp,
you will find several John Herricks, one with a
probate file date of 17 May 1742 in Wenham,
corresponding nicely to the date above (which I assume
is a death date). The index further indicates that
this John was a yeoman and died testate. So that one
at least could be checked. There may be other
candidates as well; see the link.
