Perhaps someone in the Haverhill area can give you some guidance -- I am
thrilled to find out a group has been restoring/cleaning up the cemeteries!

Hi,
There is a genealogy merit badge but.. if you want to involve the scouts the
best way (if you don't know any friendly scouts) is to look up the Boy
Scouts of America local council in the phone book. You can also check local
churches to see if they are the 'charter organization' of a boy scout troop.
What you hope to find is a Boy Scout that is working to earn his Eagle Rank.
In order to accomplish this he must complete an Eagle project that benefits
his local community and shows leadership. Generally these projects take
several months to plan/implement and should involve 100+ hours of volunteer
service.
Many councils and troops keep 'wish lists' of organizations and match them
up with scouts that need to complete an Eagle project.

There is a Boy Scout badge for genealogy. I don't know if this would
qualify, but it is a very Good Deed!
