Having had a similar problem with a different family, should we consider the possibility that Frances was born a Bowyer and was a very young widow of a Mr. Lohens?

The following record may shed light on her name. Note that John Dane and
family moved to Bishops Stortford.
"Benefactions recorded for the parish of Bishops Stortford, England : John
Dane, by deed dated July 21, 1630, in consideration of the Parish having
been at great charge in relieving Margaret, his mother-in-law, the wife of
Thomas Bowyer, after the death of her husband, and conveyed a parcel of
ground taken out of a great yard belonging to John Dane, with a heremail
there, or booth, and half part of a well lying in Hockerill Street, for the
benefit of the chief inhabitants of this Parish forever."
Margaret was probably the mother in law of John Dane and married a second
time to a Thomas Bowyer. I believe her first husband must have been a
Mr.Lohens who had died and it looks like Thomas Bowyer was also dead. She
may have gone to Bishops Stortford to live with John Dane and family after
her husband died.

They lived there by their own record. His wife was Frances and his daughter
Elizabeth was born about 1606. It is a good fit.
