2. Francis Lyman TAFT was born on October 15, 1826 in Sunderland, Franklin,

Died without issue. He was married to Mary Ann FISH on November 12, 1851.3
3. Mary Ann FISH was born on October 9, 1828.4 She died on November 16,
1854.5 Francis Lyman TAFT and Mary Ann FISH had the following children:

4. Horace Wood TAFT was born on July 1, 1787 in Montague, Franklin,
Massachusetts.6,7 He died on March 7, 1868 in Montague, Franklin,

Graduated, 1806, at Dartmouth; settled in Sunderland, 1810. He was a
lawyer by profession; lived at first , on home lot No. 18, West side, and at
time of his death on the Montague lot, No. 14, West side. He was eight times
elected to the State legislature; fifty years town clerk, and served three
terms as commissioner for Franklin County, an office he previously held under
executive appointment before it became elective. He was married to Mary
MONTAGUE on August 7, 1817.9
5. Mary MONTAGUE was born on July 31, 1791 in Sunderland, Franklin,
Massachusetts.10 She died on September 27, 1880.11 Horace Wood TAFT and
Mary MONTAGUE had the following children:
i. Henry Walbridge TAFT was born on November 13, 1818 in Sunderland,

Removed to Lenox 1838; studied law with Judge Henry W. Bishop
of Lexnox; admitted to the bar 1841; practiced his profession in West
Stockbridge about ten years, and represented that town in the Legislature,
1847; retunred to Lenox; was Register of Probate for Berkshire Co., 1853-4;
clerk of courts for same county, 1856-97; Pres. Third National Bank,
Pittsfield, from its organizations in 1881; remove to Pittsfield 1871.
ii. Julia Ann TAFT was born on March 21, 1821 in Sunderland,
Franklin, Massachusetts.13 She died on February 2, 1847 in Granville,
Licking, Ohio.14
iii. Horace Dexter TAFT was born on February 10, 1824 in
Sunderland, Franklin, Massachusetts.15

v. John Jay TAFT was born on June 5, 1829 in Sunderland, Franklin,
Massachusetts.16 He died on January 8, 1856.17 Died unmarried.
6. Lauriston FISH was born on December 24, 1801.18 He died on November 1,
1882 in Sunderland, Franklin, Massachusetts.19 Resided in Manlius and Pompey
and removed to Sunderland, 1848. He was married to Eliza HOLT on December
26, 1827 in Morrsonville, Clinton, New York.20
7. Eliza HOLT was born on June 11, 1802 in , , New York.21 She died on
March 23, 1887.22 Lauriston FISH and Eliza HOLT had the following children:

ii. Gaius Dwight FISH was born on June 14, 1834 in Manlius, Onondaga,

8. Lyman TAFT was born in 1763.25,26 He died on July 24, 1833 in Montague,
Franklin, Massachusetts.27,28 He was buried in East Mineral Road Cemetery,
Montague, Franklin, Massachusetts.29 He was married to Deborah WOOD.30
9. Deborah WOOD was born in 1768.31,32 She died on March 29, 1832 in
Montague, Franklin, Massachusetts.33,34 She was buried in East Mineral Road
Cemetery, Montague, Franklin, Massachusetts.35 Lyman TAFT and Deborah WOOD
had the following children:

10. John MONTAGUE was born on August 12, 1752 in Sunderland, Franklin,

Owned and lived on Lot No. 13, West side; after a few years succeeded to
his father's homestead; was town clerk for 32 consecutvie years and during
most of those years was selectman, assessor and treasurer; was one of those
men whose services in town affairs were multiplied and indispensable. He was
for 27 years deacon of the church and for many years teacher of the town
school; was instrumental in establishing a social library during the last
century. His last years were spent with his son John, where the latter lived
so many year and whre he died, and which place is ow owned by Charles F.
Clark. He was married to Abigail HUBBARD on October 8, 1777.75
11. Abigail HUBBARD was born on July 21, 1756.76 She died on March 12, 1796
in Sunderland, Franklin, Massachusetts.77 John MONTAGUE and Abigail HUBBARD
had the following children:
i. Belinda MONTAGUE was born on November 11, 1778 in Sunderland,
Franklin, Massachusetts.78 She died on December 14, 1842.79 Died unmarried.
ii. Caleb MONTAGUE was born on February 7, 1781 in Sunderland,
Franklin, Massachusetts.80 He died on October 28, 1825 in Sunderland,

v. Eunice MONTAGUE was born on March 10, 1789 in Sunderland,
