Lived on the ox-bow road just about in the bend, the place owned by Mr.
Hosmer. The old house used to stand east of the present brick one. He was
married to Sarah Joslin BROOKS in 1840.4
5. Sarah Joslin BROOKS was born on May 5, 1818 in Charlemont, Franklin,
Massachusetts.5 William KENDRICK and Sarah Joslin BROOKS had the following

He was married to Martha Jane TEMPLE.10,11
7. Martha Jane TEMPLE was born on March 24, 1838 in Heath, Franklin,
Massachusetts.12 She was buried in North Burying Ground, Heath, Franklin,
Massachusetts.13 Samuel Kendrick GLEASON and Martha Jane TEMPLE had the

FOURTH GENERATION
8. Oliver KENDRICK was born in 1788.14 He was baptized on June 14, 1789 in
Congregational Church, Heath, Franklin, Massachusetts.15 He died on
September 26, 1847 in Heath, Franklin, Massachusetts.16 He was buried in

Oliver, son of John, bought the place where William Fairbanks lived, now
owned by Mrs. Ethel Schmidt, and added on the place north which he bought of
Samuel Kinsman, both places were in the Lombard tract. Oliver was a mason by
trade and did considerable work in his line all around here, and it is said
his handiwork can be seen in the Mansion House in Greenfield. He and his
wife were both members of the Baptist church. They had 10 children. He was
married to Anna GLEASON on November 29, 1815 in Heath, Franklin,
Massachusetts.18,19
9. Anna GLEASON was born on January 24, 1796 in Heath, Franklin,
Massachusetts.20 Oliver KENDRICK and Anna GLEASON had the following children:

Lived here at the old place, and bought in 1866 the place known
as the old Adamsville Tavern, a hostelry known miles around for its
hospitality; he conducted it as a hotel for 10 years, later using it merely
for a residence.
iv. Asa Franklin KENDRICK was born on January 7, 1823 in Heath,
Franklin, Massachusetts.25
v. Mary Ann KENDRICK was born about 1833.26 She died on December
31, 1863.27
vi. Sarah Augusta KENDRICK.

Lived for a time in Buckland but finally settled in Heath. Served in War
of 1812. They had twelve children all born in Heath. He was married to Lucy

Bought the estate of Jacob Chapin, now Miss Edith Grant's. He was elected
to the office of selectman in 1829 and held that office for 13 years; he was
often called upon to sttle estates. He was married to Martha Hunt CHRISTIE
in 1836.75
15. Martha Hunt CHRISTIE was born on October 21, 1814 in Heath, Franklin,
Massachusetts.76 She died on March 11, 1845 in Heath, Franklin,
Massachusetts.77 of Rowe, Mass. David TEMPLE and Martha Hunt CHRISTIE had

Resided in Charlemont, Mass. He studied medicine with Dr.
Cyrus Temple, attended the Medical College at Burlington, Vt., and graduated
at the Berkshire Medical College at Pittsfield in 1865. He held many
important offices in Charlemont.
iii. William Henry TEMPLE was born on September 12, 1842 in Heath,
Franklin, Massachusetts.79
