FIRST GENERATION
1. John BOYD was born in 1705.1 He died on June 20, 1789 in Shelburne
Falls, Franklin, Massachusetts.2 Source - Richard G. Boyd:
In "Genealogical Data Extracted form the Boston Selectmen's Minute
1736-1775: by Brigitte Burker there is a "Warning out" recond "John Boyd and
his wife are lately come to Rumney Marsh and are at the home of John White;
they are "warned to depart" the town within 14 days."

The next rocord I find of John and Margaret Boyd is in Worcestor County.
Upon/Hopkinton, MA where some of their children's births or baptisms are
recorded. Margaret died 30 Septemb 1793, aged 86. John and margaret Boyd
moved from Taunton, Mass., to Hopkinton in Worcester County, and finally to
Shelburne Falls, Franklin County where they lived out their lives.

He was married to Margaret LONG on April 11, 1731 in Boston, Suffolk,
Massachusetts.3,4 Margaret LONG was born in 1707.5 She died on September
30, 1793 in Shelburne Falls, Franklin, Massachusetts.6 John BOYD and
Margaret LONG had the following children:

Purchased land in Wilmington, Vt. in 1793 and 1795.
He was married to Mary WARREN.7 Mary WARREN was born in 1737.8 She died on
February 19, 1825.9 John BOYD and Mary WARREN had the following children:

3. David BOYD (John-1) died in 1802 in Wilmington, Windham, Vermont.10

Living in Shelburne as early as 1774; only the first 3 children were born
in Shelburne, Mass. Still living in Shelburne in 1790, it is not known when
he moved to Wilmington, Vermont, or what happened to his home on Dragon Hill.

He was married to Sybil TAYLOR on December 6, 1770 in Deerfield, Franklin,
Massachusetts.11,12,13 Sybil TAYLOR Baptized on July 25, 1743.14 She died
in 1807.15 David BOYD and Sybil TAYLOR had the following children:

Deacon in 1799 and a member of the committee to make arrangemnts for
settlement of a pastor.
He was married to Sarah AMSDEN (daughter of Isaac AMSDEN and Sarah BELDEN) on
February 10, 1773 in Conway, Franklin, Massachusetts.30,31,32 Sarah AMSDEN
was born in 1753.33 She was buried in Old North Cemetery, Shelburne,

In 1804, Thomas Boyd bought 49 acres of Lot No. 31 north of John Boyd's
land. We know that he was living in Shelburne in 1805 because an old account
book informs us taht he was paid for "digging Wid. Poole's grave" that year.
He was married to Susanna on January 9, 1823 in Shelburne, Franklin,
Massachusetts.65,66 Susanna was born about 1775.67 She died on August 25,
1815 in Shelburne, Franklin, Massachusetts.68,69 She was buried in Old North
