4. Frank A. BAKER was born on November 26, 1845 in Springfield, Hampden,
Massachusetts.6 He died in October 1887 in Ilion, Herkimer, New York.7 He
was married to Anna Eunice DAVENPORT on December 29, 1868.8

5. Anna Eunice DAVENPORT was born on August 16, 1849.9 She died on October
11, 1942 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California.10 Frank A. BAKER and Anna
Eunice DAVENPORT had the following children:
i. Frank Eugene BAKER was born in December 1869 in Ilion, Herkimer,
New York.11
ii. Ammon Albert BAKER was born about 1872 in Ilion, Herkimer, New

6. Frank Adams BRITTINGHAM was born on August 6, 1853 in Berlin, Worcester,
Maryland.14 He died on September 15, 1936 in , , Flordia.15 He was married
to Olive Helen NEWTON in 1876 in Mount Vernon, Winchester, New York.16

7. Olive Helen NEWTON was born on August 20, 1854 in New York City, New
York, New York.17 Frank Adams BRITTINGHAM and Olive Helen NEWTON had the
following children:

FOURTH GENERATION
10. Ammon Farnsworth DAVENPORT was born on October 24, 1827 in Colrain,
Franklin, Massachusetts.21 He died on March 16, 1911 in North Adams,

Through his work in New York City, Dr. Amomon F. Davenport gained high
professional honors, and sixteen or more cousins, all Davenports, began their
training with him. The most distinguished of these was Dr. Isaac Burnett
Davenport who went to Paris about 1870 at the invitation of Doctor Bouger.
Here he was decorated by the king of Bavarls, and was closely associated with
the Pasteur Institute. During World War I, Doctor Isaac rendered
distinguished service in uniform despite his age and was awarded the Medaille
de la Reconnaissance franchise. It was after the War, however that Doctor
Davenport's most notable work was accomplished. With his brother, Dr.
William Davenport, and his son, Dr. Ralph Davenport, he was a founder of the
American Hospital in Paris for the treatment and reconstruction of disabled
soldiers. Since the German occupation of Paris, surviving members of the
family have come to the United States. He was married to Julia M. WALDEN
about 1848.23,24

11. Julia M. WALDEN was born in February 1831.25 Ammon Farnsworth DAVENPORT
and Julia M. WALDEN had the following children:

Berkshire, Massachusetts.26

14. Daniel NEWTON. of Shelburne, Mass. He was married to Sybil R.
DAVENPORT on January 5, 1832.27

15. Sybil R. DAVENPORT was born on December 1, 1809 in Colrain, Franklin,
Massachusetts.28,29 She died on May 19, 1888.30 Daniel NEWTON and Sybil R.
DAVENPORT had the following children:
i. Hannah Diantha NEWTON was born on November 4, 1832 in
Hubbardston, Worcester, Massachusetts.31
ii. Edward NEWTON was born on March 15, 1835 in Hubbardston,
Worcester, Massachusetts.32
iii. Sylvia NEWTON was born on March 1, 1837 in Hubbardston,
Worcester, Massachusetts.33 She died on January 31, 1838.34
iv. Jonathan NEWTON was born on January 17, 1840 in Phillipstown,
Worcester, Massachusetts.35
v. Sylvia Rosannah NEWTON was born on November 20, 1843 in
Phillipstown, Worcester, Massachusetts.36
vi. Arthur Judson NEWTON was born on January 14, 1845 in
Phillipstown, Worcester, Massachusetts.37
vii. Emma Frances NEWTON was born on January 26, 1847 in New York
City, New York, New York.38

FIFTH GENERATION
20. Dr. Nathaniel DAVENPORT was born on May 20, 1783 in Colrain, Franklin,
Massachusetts.39 He was an herb doctor. Removed in 1840 to Griswoldville.

(13) This was also the home of Dr. Nathaniel [5] Davenport (Jason [4], Jason
[3], Eben [2], Thomas [1] of Dorchester, Mass.). He married Alice Davenport
(Paul [6]), and their six children, double Davenports, were: Robert M.,
Ammon F., Joseph N., Lydia, Truar, and Jason L. Three of the brothers,
Ammon, Joseph and Jason, chose dentistry for a profession. He was
married.40,41 Dr. Nathaniel DAVENPORT had the following children:
i. Robert M. DAVENPORT.

iii. Dr. Joseph N. DAVENPORT was born on November 21, 1829.42
Resided in Northampton, Mass.
iv. Lydia DAVENPORT was born in February 1833 in Colrain, Franklin,

v. Truair J. DAVENPORT was born on April 22, 1834 in Colrain,
Franklin, Massachusetts.44 He died on June 12, 1868 in Belmond, Wright,
Iowa.45 Removed about 1863 to Belmond, Iowa. Killed by lighting in 1868.
vi. Dr. Jason L. DAVENPORT was born in November 1839 in Colrain,
Franklin, Massachusetts.46

30. Rev. Edward DAVENPORT was born on September 6, 1774 in Dorchester,
Suffolk, Massachusetts.47 He died on December 8, 1863 in Colrain, Franklin,

Elder Edward was ordained a Baptist minister in 1816 and served as pastor
of the Second Baptist Church on Christian Hill for 35 years. He received no
stated salary and also served at various times as a field missionary for the
Massachusetts Baptist Missionary Society. He traveled extensively in New
York, Vermont and Pennsylvania, usually in the fall after his crops were
harvested, for he had inherited his father's house and farm. One diary
relates how he took a trip to Smithfield, Pa., stopping at various places
along the way. One of these was an Indian settlement where the meat served
at meals was so tough that the squaws had to tenderize it by pre-chewing.
He was married to Betsey ADAMS on December 2, 1798 in Charlemont, Franklin,
Massachusetts.50,51,52,53

31. Betsey ADAMS was born on February 4, 1776 in Rowe, Franklin,
Massachusetts.54,55 She died on June 15, 1823 in Colrain, Franklin,
Massachusetts.56,57,58
of Heath (not of the Colrain Adams family) Rev. Edward DAVENPORT and Betsey
ADAMS had the following children:
i. John DAVENPORT was born on February 22, 1800 in Colrain,
Franklin, Massachusetts.59,60,61 He died on November 16, 1881.62 Resided

John Davenport was the first of the family to come here. He came from
Colrain and married Hannah Hall, probably a daughter of Arad Hall of Rowe.
The settled in No. 9 and cleared the land and built a log cabin which stood
some distance from the present house. This is where Mederic Lively lives
now. He came sometime before 1825 for his oldest child, John Bradford, was
born in Heath, as well as the reset of his children. He also built a
saw-mill and sawed out much of the timber on the place which found a ready
sale. 6 children.
ii. Patience DAVENPORT was born on February 19, 1803 in Colrain,
Franklin, Massachusetts.63,64,65 She died on February 22, 1892.66
iii. Electra R. DAVENPORT was born on September 2, 1804 in
Colrain, Franklin, Massachusetts.67,68,69,70 She died on May 18, 1892.71
She was buried in Leavitt Cemetery, Charlemont, Franklin, Massachusetts.72

iv. Joseph DAVENPORT was born on September 25, 1806 in Colrain,
Franklin, Massachusetts.73,74 He died on March 22, 1889.75 Built the Iron
Foundry in Colrain, Mass.
v. Jonathan Gleason DAVENPORT was born on July 6, 1808 in Colrain,
Franklin, Massachusetts.76,77 He died on January 13, 1840 in Long Island
Sound, Queens, New York. Killed in th burning of the steamboat Lexington in
Long Island Sound, when 100 persons were lost.

vii. Elizabeth (Betsey) DAVENPORT was born on October 27, 1811 in
Colrain, Franklin, Massachusetts.78,79,80 She died on December 2, 1857 in
Newington, Hartford, Connecticut.81,82 Resided Truxton, N.Y. and Nevington
Junction, Conn.
viii. Joshua DAVENPORT was born on April 25, 1814 in Colrain,
Franklin, Massachusetts.83,84 He died on January 8, 1877.85
ix. Edward DAVENPORT was born on March 6, 1816 in Colrain, Franklin,
Massachusetts.86,87,88 He died on May 5, 1883.89
x. Mary Ann DAVENPORT was born on February 22, 1818 in Colrain,
Franklin, Massachusetts.90,91,92 She died on August 3, 1820 in Colrain,
