Fifth Generation
16. James STREETER was born on 16 Jan 1741 in Cumberland, Providence, Rhode
Island. A Genealogy History of the Descendants of Stephen and Ursula
Streeter of Gloucester, Mass., by Milford B. Streeter, Brooklyn, N.Y. Eben
Putnam, Publisher, Salem, Mass., 1896. p. 39.
He was a grantee in Cumberland, Sept. 2, 1771. After this we find him in
Vernon, Vt., when Feb. 14, 1804, he and wife Hannah deed to their son James,
his farm in Hinsdale, N.H., and takes in return to himself a lease to improve
the same, during the lifetime of himself and wife Hannah. The said farm
adjoined in part to that of his brother Amos.
Mr. David Jillson of Attleboro, in adduding to the centennial celebration
in honor of the birthday of their daughter, Mrs. Hannah Sweetland,
incidentally remarks that when she was nine years of age her parents, in
1791, removed to Vermont. During the interim, between that date and time of
marriage, the births of his children are not found on record, but have been
obtained icidentally through sources of correspondence. James STREETER and
Hannah TOWER were married on 21 Oct 1764.

17. Hannah TOWER was born on 5 Aug 1744. A Genealogy History of the
