Message Board Post:

Hello everyone with a Hessian soldier in the family tree!

I have posted replies to enquiries on this Message Board
on several occasions in order to help family researchers
to find their roots. I am now retired and my research material
is with the S.A.R. Library in Louisville, Kentucky.
In a posting made earlier today, which has also come
through your mail list, I misquoted the name of the mail list
which contains an enormous amount of information on
Hessian soldiers. I would advise anyone who is searching
to make use of the mail list archives of the
mail list and check
for names at this archive address:
http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl
and when this side comes up just enter amrev-hessians
in the query box. You have to search through every year,
starting with 1998 for your particular name, and if you are
halfway lucky, you will find many postings with names of
cousins, other searchers, and most important, you may find
YOUR man.
Wishing you all good luck in your search.
Yours truly,
John Helmut Merz,
Hamilton, Ontario.
