The following postings is primarily obtained from Harry Flynn and the
letter by George R. Gunn, dated August 15, 1938.

First Generation
1. Elijah GUNN was born on 25 Dec 1759 in Montague, Hampshire,
Massachusetts. He died on 22 Sep 1855 in Defiance, Definace, Ohio.

...."Another son of Nathaiel and Dorothy (Marsh) was Elijah Gunn, to
whom we shall refer Elijah the Pioneer, for at 38 years of age he and
his wife Ann, came to Western Reserve with the surveyors from the
Connecticut Land Company.
Elijah and Anna are thought to haad six children but the historical
records only speak of one child coming to Cleveland with them. The
probable issue of Elijah the Pioneer and Anna (Sawtelle) Gunn are: 1)
Philena md. Capt. Allen Gaylord; 2) Christopher, a twin, md. Ruth
Hickox; 3) Charles, a twin, md. Betsey Mattocks; 4) Horace, md. Ann
Pritchard; 5) Elijah and 6) Minerva md: Jonathan Blakeslee."

Elijah GUNN and Ann SARTWELL were married in Montague, Hampshire,
Massachusetts. Ann SARTWELL was born on 21 Jan 1760 in Montague,
Hampshire, Massachusetts. She died in 1842. Elijah GUNN and Ann
SARTWELL had the following children:
+2i.Philena GUNN (born on 23 Oct 1782).
+3ii.Christopher (twin) GUNN.
+4iii.Charles (twin) GUNN.
+5iv.Horace GUNN (born in 1786).
+6v.Elijah GUNN (born in 1794).

Elijah GUNN and Mindwell CARVER were married. Mindwell CARVER (daughter
of Capt. Jonathan CARVER and Abigail ROBBINS) was born on 1 May 1762 in
Montague, Hampshire, Massachusetts.

Second Generation

2. Philena GUNN (Elijah-1) was born on 23 Oct 1782 in , ,
Massachusetts.

Philena GUNN and Capt. Allen GAYLORD were married. Capt. Allen GAYLORD.
Lived at Newburg. Philena GUNN and Capt. Allen GAYLORD had the
following children:

3. Christopher (twin) GUNN.
Christopher (twin) GUNN and Ruth HICKOX were married in 1810. Ruth
HICKOX.

4. Charles (twin) GUNN. George R. Gunn, Ltr dated August 15, 1938.
"Charles Gunn served in the War of 1812. After the war they moved
over near the Maumee River where they both died late in the year 1832,
leaving a family of six children."
"Two grandsons at Napoleon, Ohio; and a grandson, John Gunn, at Maumee
City, Ohio."

Charles (twin) GUNN and Betsey MATTOCKS were married on 16 Feb 1812.
Betsey MATTOCKS. Charles (twin) GUNN and Betsey MATTOCKS had the
following children:

11iii.Elliot GUNN was born in 1818. He died in 1890.

5. Horace GUNN (Elijah-1) was born in 1786 in Montague, Hampshire,
Massachusetts. He died on 17 May 1876 in Stryker, Williams, Ohio.

Horace GUNN and Anna PRITCHARD were married on 28 Jun 1805 in , Geauga,
Ohio. Anna PRITCHARD (daughter of Jared PRITCHARD and Ann BARID) died
in 1843 in Chardon, Geauga, Ohio. She was born in Waterbury, New
Haven, Connecticut. Horace GUNN and Anna PRITCHARD had the following
children:
