Hello,
First of all I want to commend you on your diligent and DOCUMENTED research. Your point about not just passing along the same old information as if it were fact is something EVERYONE doing any genealogical research should heed. It seems to me here are many who just want to "fill in the gaps" perhaps because they need some sort of closure to make it look they have something or are in too much of a hurry to persist as you have.
While I don't have any particular information for you, and not knowing your location or familiarity with local Franklin County sources. I suggest looking into any possible help via Geroge Sheldon's History of Deerfield and his extensive genealogical information. His work is highly regarded. It's also possible that archival material at The Memorial Libraries in Deerfield (The Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association or PVMA collection) may yield something.
Also, many Massachusetts towns had their Vital Records published in the 20th Century through a public works project. If Grafton's (MA) were published, perhaps they might yield something as well.
I wish I had more to offer. Good luck.
