Message Board Post:

I just did a run down on Amos King who married first Eliza Bacon he also had a second marriage to Emily Ruleison daughter of John Ruleison. So here is the run down for you.

Eighth Generation: 5 children first an unnamed child King, Charles King, Henry King, Elizabeth King, and Roxanna King (I have their spouses do you want them? My notes do not tell me which one of his spouses was the mother of these children.

Seventh Generation: Amos King (one of eleven children)

Sixth Generation: SAMUEL KING JR. (V)b. about 1756 married Philena Haskins b. 18 March 1766

Fifth Generation: SAMUEL KING SR. (IV) b. before 6 April 1735 - d. 15 October 1818 married Bethiah King (still working on her relationship to the Salem King family)

Fourth Generation: SAMUEL KINGE JR. (III) 13 April 1702 - 17? married Mary Brown before 4 January 1701/1702 - 17?

Third Generation: SAMUEL KINGE SR. (II) May 1664 - before March 1638/1639 married (1) Elizabeth Marsh 1670 - christened 10 July 1670 -d. before 1721 married (2) Elizabeth Tapley (Dickenson) Barton (Widow)b. between 1685 and 1687 - d. after 1729

Second Generation: John Kinge Sr. baptized in Salem November 1638 married Elizabeth Goldthwaite daughter of Thomas Goldthwaite who came to the colonys in one of the 11 ships in the Winthrope Fleet about 1630 to Roxbury and married Elizabeth thought to be the daughter or sister to an early Salem Resident.

First generation: William Kinge Sr. I b. about 1595 (based on age given in ship passenger list) d. April 1650. married Dorothy Dible about 1601 died after 1684 in Southhold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. She was survived by 5 daughters and 2 sons preceded in death by son William Jr. husband of Katherine Shaflin King.

Send me your email address and I will provide my file for you on Amos and Eliza Bacon King of New Salem.

Like I suspected Amos traces back to Samuel Kinge Sr. the brother of my Jonathan and Sarah (Cooke) King Sr. of Salem. They are two of the sons of 9 children born to John and Elizabeth (Goldthwaite) Kinge Sr.

I believe that I know the parents of Bethia King but it will take some more digging for the proof.

Daniel
