I'm not related to this person, just found the obituary in an old scrapbook my local library has and found it interesting. Just thought I'd post it in case anyone looking for this family did not know they had traveled on to Michigan from Massachusetts. Sorry I cannot read the year for sure but is is between 1900 and 1905.

JOHN FISHER

Tuesday about 3 p.m. occurred the sudden death of John Fisher, residing north of Tecumseh. Mr. Fisher left the house in the best of spirits to go out into the field where his help were working, and when returning, the men in the field noticed the horse that Mr. Fisher was driving was taking a very irregular course. They at once investigated and found the gentleman lying dead in his carriage. Heart disease was given as the cause of his death.
Mr. Fisher was a prosperous farmer and stock-raiser of Lenawee county and a prominant citizen of Clinton Township, where he has one of the finest residences in the county.
He was born in Franklin county, Mass., August 4, 1829. In May 1836, his parents Mrs. and Mrs. John Fisher, Sr., with nine children, left their Massachusetts home and started on the then long journey to Michigan, and after twenty days of weary travel they settled in what is now Clinton Township.
John Fisher, Jr. was the youngest but one of his parents' family and received an education in the select schools of the time.
He was first married in Tecumseh village, Feb. 14, 1854, to Miss Rachel Hampton, daughter of Isaac and Almera Hampton, early settlers from New York. His second marriage occurred at Kalamazoo, Mich. July 31, 1868, when he was wedded to Mrs. Zoraida A. Hood, daughter of Dr. R.H. and Betsy (Foster) Henderson.
Mr. Fisher has always occupied a high social position in the township, and his sudden death is greatly felt by his large circle of friends. The funeral was held from his late residence at 1:30 today, Rev. Bower officiating.
