Eli Skinner enlisted as Fifer for Capt. Agrippa Wells' company in
May 1775 and served at Prospect Hill outside of Boston until December.
He servedagain as Fifer for Capt. John Wells from December 23, 1776 to
April 1, 1777 at Ticonderoga. For his service, Eli received a pension
of $34 per year.
Left Shelburne in 1795 to resetttle in Waitsfield, Vt. He served
as town treasurer in 1804 and 1805. About 1835, he removed with his
second wife, Eleanor, and some of his children to Gourvenour, N.Y.
Still later he moved on to Illinois where he died.

Dea. Aaron Skinner who came from Colchester, Conn. to Shelburne
May, 8, 1773 "settled on and owned the farm which Abner Peck later
bought." Deacon Skinner's house was down under the hill near the old
Amos Allen farm now owned by K.Y. Taylor heirs. Aaron Skinner was a
cobbler. He was representative at the General Court.

Asa Nims served as a private with Capt. Benjamin Phillips during
the American Revolution. He enlisted on July 10 and was dischargaed
five weeks later on August 12, 1777.
Removed to Ohio with his wife, sons and their families in 1827.
They purchased land from the Strongs in the Ohio "Western Reserv."

Served in the Revolutionary War for a year's time. The first of
his service was from July to December 1778 under Capt. Wells. They
guarded the power magazine in Brookfield, Ma. He served again from
July 1, 1780 to December 10, 1780 at West Point. The desciptive list
states he was five feet eight with a light complexion. For his
service, he recieved a pension of $40 per year. He also received a
bounty land warrant posthumously.

He came to Ervingshire about 1756, although he bought land in
Erving's Grant from John Erving in 1752 H Y-592. He was a member of
the New Salem church (which servedErvingshire) in 1761. In the 1780's
he moved to New York. Aaron OSGOOD and Eunice WHITE were married in
1729 in Lancaster, Worcester, Massachusetts.51-53
