This is such a great idea.
I have several problem ancestors:
SLATTERY
Thomas Slattery (son of James & Hannah Henchey) bord c1867 in Mass
according to 1880 census. E'ton marriage reg. lists pob as Northampton,
but Northampton has no record. Married Celeste/Celestia/Celestine McCarthy
of Westhampton in Easthampton on 27 Jun 1889. Had a daughter Helen in
E'ton 21 Nov 1891. From an old letter, also had a son James, who settled
in South Deerfield. Would love to reconnect with this branch of the family.
Hannah Henchey Slattery died 20 Feb 1924, age 83. Any information would be
great!
Alice Slattery (dau of James & Hannah Henchey) 10 Apr 1872-21 May 1938 is
buried in the family plot of Michael Slattery according to the cemetery
records for St Brigid's in E'ton. Is this a clerical error or is Michael
related somehow?
O'ROURKE
John (may be Patrick John) O'Rourke married Mary Casey, who came to the US
at the age of two (c1851). A 2nd son was born 30 Apr 1869 in Northampton;
I can find no verification for the 1st son. When did the O'Rourke's arrive
here? Where did John meet MAry?
John's mother is referred to in an old letter as Catharine O'Brien
O'Rourke-Forhan, but her death reg in N'ton just shows O'Rourke. Does the
name Forhan mean anything to anyone?
I have been unable to locate any living relatives of the O'Rourke line.
State Rep. John O'Rourke and his sister, Catherine, have died. Does anyone
know his wife Eileen, and if she is still living?
GENERAL QUESTION
In researching death registries including 1 relative, cause of death is
listed as "Killed by Cars". Automobiles, train, trolley, or an old name of
a disease (can't find in any medical dictionaries). Does anyone know to
what this refers.
THANKS!
