Hi Mimi,
I am particularly interested in what you may have for Edmond/Edmund Gould. I
believe that he was born(1762) and lived in Amherst through the Rev War. May
have enlisted up to 4 times and substituted for a man named Kellogg. I am
not sure he was born in Amherst, maybe outside but he and his mother,
Elizabeth and I think his sister Martha were warned out in Amherst in 1764.
I believe his mother to be Elizabeth Thayer and his father to be Joseph
Gould(Son of David Gould and married in 1758 in Amherst). I do have his Rev
War pension file and his mother signed an affidavit as Elizabeth Gould. His
mother stated that Edmond was her only son but I'm wondering about that too.
Can you help with any more info about Edmond, his birth, his time in the
Militia and Continental Army, or the rest of the family. I only know of him
and of a possible sister named martha. Am wondering what happened to his
father and why they had to come into Amherst on Dec. 26, 1764 without the
father.
Would be grateful for any information,
John Voorhees, Romeo, Mich.
