Mass Vital Records 1850-1910 at NEHGS (181:19 #11) shows Father Hanigan performed the marriage. He was the Catholic priest for St Mary's Church, which was located on Church St off King St in Northampton (about where Stop & Shop is now); the State St playground is the old graveyard (moved when St Mary's Cemetery on Bridge Rd was started). I don't know how far back St Mary's records go but you might check there. For years, Catholic events got reported back to the home (where the person was baptised) parish. If St Mary's doesn't have the records, maybe the diocese in Spfld does.
Frederick A born 13 Jan 1868 in Northampton to Alfred & Maria Budrey. Alfred's occupation is listed as papermaker (MVR 206:76 #13). Fred's marriage in 1896 shows him as a Jr with his parents listed as Fred & Maria. (MVR 460:63 #364)
If the Alfred Beaudry, age 75 with a 2nd marriage to Mary (married 22 years) and with 19 yr old Arthur & 18 yr old Irene, living with Frederick in the 1910 Holyoke census is the right one, he told the census taker that he was naturalized in 1860 (US Federal Census, Holyoke, Hampden, Ward 2, Precinct B, Race Street, SD 119, ED 504, Sheet 9A).

Forbes Library has quite the collection of directories for the Northampton/Easthampton area dating back to right before the Civil War. The early ones don't have the extensive listings as the later ones but it is worth a try.
If they were Catholic, they may have married in Northampton because Northampton had the nearest Catholic priest (you didn't mention where the marriage record says they were living). As you know, Western Mass had a large French & Irish population because of all the mills. Did the record list their occupations?
Did you check for kids born in the area particularly if they didn't survive to adulthood? Sometimes I find more information on the childrens' records then any where else.
Did Alfred become a naturalized citizen while in the area? If so, he may have done so in either Hampshire or Hampden County Court. I know Hampshire County has a card file with naturalizations; I don't know what Hampden has. The naturalization record might have more information for you.
I'm up to variation 27 on O'Rourke and swear my Irish ancestors were beamed here by aliens. Marie Cullen is a pretty easy name to murder with an Irish accent involved. She could be listed under Mary or Minnie, Collin, Cullin, Cullans, etc. Since the English didn't encourage literacy in the Irish, she may not have realized that what she said & what was spelled wasn't the same thing.
Good luck on your mission!

I'm just curious about how I might find out more about my great great grandfather, Alfred Beaudry and my great great grandmother, Maria Cullen Beaudry....the first record I have of them is when they married in Northampton on January 29, 1865. The Beaudry name has been spelled in several ways including Bodrey, Bodrie and Budry among others....
I have no clue as to how long Alfred and Maria were in Northampton before they married...I have no idea how they got to Northampton in the first place or even why they went there....I know that Maria was from Ireland and was supposedly 22 at the time of marriage.
Alfred was from someplace in Quebec province and was a few years older than Maria.
Are there any records which pre-date 1865( I've checked the 1860 federal census) such as directories or other resources which might help me to pinpoint when each arrived in Northampton and how they got there and from whence they came ?
Unfortunately the marriage record was not of much help.....Maria's parents weren't listed at all and only Alfred's father, Samuel was listed....
