Dear Sue,

I had a similar situation where the parents of my great grandmother were
incorrect on her death certificate. I searched for two years for this
non-existent couple until I realized that it just had to be wrong......but I
could not prove it. I finally did prove it by checking the parents name's on
her only sister's death record. So, if you can check out any records of her
known siblings, it might get you the proof you need. Also, she must have
been baptized?? Maybe the church records can provide the proof you need.
Also, her children's baptism records might hold some proof of her maiden
name? The Catholic records always list the wife by her maiden name, but the
other denominations don't always. It might be worth a shot. Also, the
Catholics name God parents, who are usually the grand parents, but I am not
sure about the other denominations. Could be worth a shot.

Mary
