Hello, Maine Listers,

I have been away and unsubbed for awhile, but now I am back, persuing my Maine ancestors again. I am searching for my NORTON ancestors from the Farmington area and recently came across something that may lead to a clue. I was reading an account of the wedding of my grandparents in Lewiston in Oct. 1900. Besides telling about the wedding, the gifts were listed along with the names of the givers. Three gift givers were:

Mr.&Mrs O.A.Norton

Augustus P. Norton

Lillian A. Norton.

These folks would all have been living in 1900. My grandmother's grandmother was Christania P. NOrton who married Joshua T. Eaton in Strong in 1847. I am searching for the family of Christania, but it was said she was a relative of Lillian "Nordica" Norton, the famous opera singer of the late 1800-early 1900s. Anyway, I hope one of those Nortons above might seem familiar to somebody on this list.
