Dear List,

The detailed marriage record for my Lucy (nee GRAY) HYSON
shows a different father's forename than the one given in
her 1943 obituary so am posting the new information. Lucy
married (1914) and died (1943) in Portland, ME so am hoping
to find other family connections in the area.

Her father: William GRAY (born Manchester, England;
deceased by 1914)
Her mother: Mary (BRODES?) (born Sri Lanka / Ceylon;
deceased by 1914)

The other information (from the obituary) about the family
is probably true. Lucy's father was reportedly a rubber
planter, living in Ceylon at least c1876 when Lucy was born
in Kandy. There was also a son - Dr. Henry GRAY - who was
still living in Ceylon in 1943.

Am hoping this new information may lead to family links.
