THanks, Richard. Senior moment. I was thinking the marriage was 1856,
rather than the birth. Duh. I did check the 1860 census and the James
Moody in Franklin Co. appears to be the correct one. In 1860 the
township is listed as "Eustis Plantation"; the post office is Kingfield.

There are two page numbers. Ancestry has it under p. 894 for Franklin
Co. On the image, the Moody family is on pp. 86 and 87, but 894 is also
written on p. 87.

There are 3 Moody families on this page. In context:

David Reed, 56, wife Huldah, 45, 8 ch.
John Moody, 44, wife Polly, 44, 9 ch. ranging from 14 to 3
Geo Batchelder, 22, wife Mary A, 19, one ch.
Joseph Moody, 33, wife Emma, 27, 5 ch. ranging from 10 to 11 mos.
James C. Moody, 39, wife Betsy, 33. Children: Hannah, 16; Betsy, 14;
Marilla, 12; James, 9; Abby, 7; Emerson, 2.

Mary Batchelder may be a sister of the three Moodys. All of these men
are farmers, so land records may be of some help.
