Subject: [MAINE] NASON families of Acton

I am looking for the parents of one Sarah Nason, born in Acton on February 20, 1840. According to the 1840 census, there were three households with female children under the age of 5. The heads of these households were Benjamin, Daniel, and Richard. Does anyone have any info that may confirm that Sarah was born to one of these three, or perhaps to another Nason in Acton?

Sarah was adopted before 1850 by Asa and Temperance Bodwell. She married George D. Perkins of Acton on April 25, 1858. Perhaps her parents died when she was quite young.

Any leads on Sarah will be greatly appreciated. She was my g-g-grandmother. There is some confusion over her birth -- Geoffrey Bodwell in "Bodwell Family Lines" says that Sarah was the natural daughter of Asa and Temperance Bodwell. Family legend, and the death certificate of her son, Steven Perkins, says that her birth name was Nason.
