A new mailing list devoted to ABENAKI research has been created by Rootsweb.
This list is for those of you who are doing research on the Abenaki Native
Americans, whose homeland stretched across Northern New England in the areas
covered by Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and surrounding areas. When
pushed out of their lands by the settlement of New England, the Abenaki
retreated north into Quebec, where they formed two large communities which
survive today.
