Hello,

I'd like to repost my interest in the children and grandchildren of Ashabel
and Percissa (KNIGHT) RICE who moved from Marlborough, MA, area to Digby,
NS, in the early 1790's. In 1800 to 1804 they moved across the water to
Eastport, ME. (They also are said to have lived in Belfast, ME.)

The children that I know about are:
Mary RICE, b1780 (marr. Henry HAMILTON)
Rufus RICE, b1783 (marr. Mary HAMILTON)
Ruth RICE, b1784 (marr. Archibald HAMILTON)
Lucy RICE, b1788 (marr. unknown)
Ebenezer RICE, b~1793 (marr. unknown or not remembering at moment)
Jesse RICE, b~1796 """"
Ashabel RICE, b~1803 """"
Daniel RICE, b1802 to 1804 (marr. Lucy McDANIEL / McDONALD)
daughter, name unknown, marr. unknown

(Note: Henry, Mary, and Archibald, are 3 of 7 children of Archibald and
Mary (McGREGOR) HAMILTON - from HAMILTON researcher.)

My ancestors are Daniel and Lucy (McDANIEL)* RICE, and they had ten children
in Eastport or Lubec, ME:

William RICE, b1833 (marr. Huldah NICKERSON)
Isaiah RICE, b1834
Solomon RICE, b1837 (marr. Catherine COLSON)
Amelia RICE, b1849 (possibly Emily RICE who marr. Joseph ANDERSON)
Maria RICE, b1842
Rufus RICE, b1844
Ezra RICE, b1846 (marr. Susie Maria ????)
Louisa RICE, b1847
S. W. RICE, b1848
Charles W. RICE, b1850 (my great-great-grandfather)

** Would appreciate any additions or corrections to the information I have
received from different researchers.

** Ashabel RICE, the father, possibly had brothers who also moved to
"Maine," especially Jesse RICE.

**As I've mentioned before, I believe, different researchers disagree as to
whether my Daniel RICE was one of the youngest children of Ashabel and
Percissa RICE -- or the son of their oldest son and his wife, Rufus and Mary
RICE. But, last year someone pointed out to me that Rufus and Mary RICE
did not marry until 1807 -- and that was several years after Daniel was
born. Researchers believe he was born between 1800 and 1804 - or the
year that Ashabel and Percissa moved from Digby, NS, to Eastport, ME.

Thank you for your time.

Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA)

P.S. Someone wrote yesterday to remind me about the Campobello web site -
and to tell me there is someone who posted McDANIEL / McDONALD information
there in regards to NB and ME. He mentioned a Sally McDONALD b1811 in
Lubec, ME.
I have not found anyone who knows about Lucy McDANIEL / McDONALD, who was
reported to have been b1811 in NB or NS. Lucy married Daniel RICE in
Lubec, ME, in 1832.
