When the State National Guards were mobilized during WWII states formed what
they called state guards. I was a member of the Georgia State Guard at age
16. We wore cast off CCC uniforms. The winter uniform was forest green, and if
I remember correctly the uniforms were patterned after the Army enlisted of
the day. Summer uniforms were standard khaki uniforms.
