Hi David,
I have a book, "Dictionary of American Slang," (eBay), and I looked up
"Skeleton in the Closet" a few days ago. I didn't find that, but I found
the word, "skillion" - meaning an enormous or inconceivable number.
:o)
I'll bet some researchers have a skillion ancestors !

Betty (near Lowell, MA)
P.S. Also see the word, Skeezik -- a character in the very old comic
strip, "Gasoline Alley."
P.S.2 Because we just had the Halloween holiday, maybe we could start a
thread on how many reserachers have a "skeleton in their closet."
Mine is my great-grandfather, George "Sanford" KIDDER, b1870 in Princeton,
Maine. He spent the last 5 years of his life in the Bangor State
Hospital. His adult children in Winchester, MA, had to drive up to
Princeton in ~1938 and "take" their father to Bangor.
