Hello,

I was just looking to see if the WHITMAN name shows up in the "KIDDER book,"
and it shows up only once. This paragraph shows a KIDDER who "died at
sea" in 1854. See below.

I just looked at the "WHITMAN book" (mentioned this morning) to see if the
KIDDER name is mentioned there, and it mentions the same family. But,
the 2 descriptions are slightly different from each other.

377 JOSEPH WESTON KIDDER (David, Richard, Richard, Ephraim, James), born at
Canaan, Somerset Co., Me., 6 Feb. 1816; died on steamship, "Yankee Blade"
bound for California, twelve miles from Panama, 20 Apr. 1854 and was buried
at sea. He married first, 25 Dec. 1849, MARY HILL of Lexington, Somerset
Co., Me., died at Skowhegan, Me., 27 Apr. 1850; and secondly, at Skowhegan,
21 Aug. 1851, SARAH D. YORK, born there 24 Jan. 1830, daughter of Levi and
Lucy (Whitman) York.

Joseph Weston Kidder resided in Skowhegan, Me., where he was a manufacturer
of boots and shoes.

Child by second wife:

769 i. HENRY AUGUSTINE, b. at Skowhegan, 10 June 1852.



769 HENRY AUGUSTINE KIDDER (Joseph Weston, David, Richard, Richard, Ephraim,
James), born at Skowhegan, Me., 10 June 1852. He married at Boston, 31 Dec.
1878, THERESA LUCY FRASER of that city, born in Nova Scotia, 26 Apr. 1860,
daughter of Alexander and Lucy (Behie) Fraser.

Henry Augustus Kidder was a journalist, and resided at Arlington, Mass.

Children, born at Arlington, Mass.:

1168 i. HERBERT LESLIE, b. 19 Oct. 1880.

1169 ii. HENRY DECATUR, b. 14 Nov. 1883.
