While it's correct that his ancestors are not proven, recent DNA results reveal clues.

Living decendants of Peter Mallory of New Haven CT and a descendant of the Mallorys of Kilham East Riding Yorkshire England share the R1b1b2 haplo match 23 of 25 genetic markers. Refer to The Mallory Surname DNA Study for complete results:

This suggests Peter Mallory of New Haven CT and George Mallorie b: bef 1619 England shared a common direct male ancestor.
