The earliest citation which mentioned (Adams) as the maiden name of Aaron's
wife was an article in NEHGR by a man who, about 1862, was reporting his own
ancestry.The citation is NEHGR 16:41ff. Any library large enough to have a
history department would be likely to have this on CD. Too long to copy
here.
Also, the CD edition of Torrey has the source citations which never
appeared in the printed editions. The following might answer your "Abigail"
question.
