Hi Listers,
I know this isn't exactly in Middlesex County, but I
sure could use some help about Suffolk Co. Maybe some
on the list is familiar with the area and could help?

My gfather was born and died in East Boston. I have
an address 49 Cottage St. ( where he was born), but
have no clue as too what precinct or district to look
in for East Boston. The Census data definitely
requires it, and in 1860 there is no East Boston
listed at all.

His father(my ggfather) came to Boston from Germany in
1850 when he was only 2 1/2 yrs. old and we have been
unable to find any census data on either of them.
We don't even know who brought him here. We don't
believe it was his parents.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
