Subject: 350th Activities - Memorial Day - Billerica/Chelmsford/Groton
Date: Wed, 4 May 2005 07:03:46 -0400
Hello,
Just wanted to remind people that Memorial Day Weekend will begin the
"official summer celebrations" of the 350th anniversaries of the towns of
Billerica, Chelmsford, and Groton !
Each town has a web site devoted to 350th activities, and I have posted the
URL's within the past few months.
I believe each town is looking for *descendants* of the first settlers in
each town in the 1600's - and would like to know whether we can "meet" at
one of the 350th activities !!
My 1600's Billerica and Chelmsford ancestors are the following couples:
KIDDER / MOORE
KIDDER / PARKER
CROSBY / BRACKETT
CROSBY / EVERETT
etc., etc.*
(Note: I have just heard that, IF the historical societies had gotten
together and planned "joint activities" (as I had suggested several years
ago), they could have received "grant money" to help pay for the
celebrations.)
By the way, in 1655, I believe the three towns were officially incorporated
on May 30th ! That is why Memorial Day weekend is a good time for
celebrating !

HUTCHINSON / BAKER ("of Charlestown, MA"
HUTCHINSON / FASCITT ("of Charlestown, MA")
(My great-great-grandmother was born as: Adelaide Crosby HUTCHINSON in
1851 in Winchester, MA.) (I believe the HUTCHINSON land first became
Woburn and then became Winchester later on.)
