From The Concord Enterprise, 7 August 1891 -
Everyone's heading for the hills, or the shore. Middlesexers vacationing
in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Lake George, Nantasket Beach, Sebago
Lake, Hampton Beach, Bethlehem, NH, and the White Mountains. Meanwhile,
the G.A.R. entrains for the big Encampment in Detroit, Sunday School
picnics at Lakes Magog and Walden, and Frank Hutchinson, who drove off
months ago with a hired wagon has been arrested in Michigan and returned
to Lowell to face charges. Another wagon ran over 4-yr old Eddie Riley in
Maynard and a bunch of bikers have left Maynard on a run to Maine. John
J. Watson of Concord bought a new Victor bicycle, and a night blooming
cereus with seven blossoms has been drawing crowds at the home of George
M. Brooks. All this and lots more.
