The Diary of Lieut. Samuel Thompson of Woburn. F&I War 1758

http://tfeeney.esmartbiz.com/janice.htm

I already have at my pages online - Woburn in the F&I Wars.

Just added to my pages this morning is the Diary (34 kbs) by Lt. Sam Thompson
of Woburn. It tells how each soldier died and the circumstances (men from
Woburn)

Has mention of Major Robert Rogers and his rangers in the area back and
forth between his battles. Perhaps you recall that in early 1758 - the immortal -
Battle on Snowshoes was fought in this same locale by Rogers and his Rangers.
URL for Snowshoes Battle:

So many of those men of Woburn died from illness and the foul weather they
were
forced to camp out in - they were there in the battle fields for four months
- heat of
summer in cold and rain of the fall. Not to mention those scalped. Oh - the
url to
a website that has the story of one of Rogers Rangers in rage - scalping
Indians!
(Url in body of the Diary file)

Quite a saver. (they should make a movie of his diary)! Anyway - feel
free to download both (or any) of those files. Best regards.
