Margaret E. (McGowan) Chase, deceased; Miss Ann Donnelly hosts meeting of
the Socialite club to plan a weenie roast and toboggan party; Frank
Johnson, president of the Lowell choir, hosts New England Federation of
Men's Glee Clubs; Rep. Albert L. Bourgeous of Lowell files bill requiring
sworn statements of receipts and expenditures in connection with bingo
games. Meanwhile, in Washington, Southern Senators use filibuster to
block anti-lynching bill.
