The Cambridge vital records to 1850 are now fully transcribed and online. The two books of over 1,700 pages were done by just ONE lady in under five months. She is a wife and mother. She also transcribed the headstone inscriptions from one of the Cambridge cemeteries.

You can check out the vital records at

and then scroll down to Middlesex county

The epitaphs are at

and then scroll down to Epitaphs From The Old Burying Ground.

There are other Middlesex towns that are being transcribed and many more that haven't even been started. YOU can be a part of this. It isn't hard. The directions look a bit daunting, but once started, it is quite easy. It is also richly rewarding as you realize that your work will help many people and, perhaps, your own lost cousins. Have you had a brick wall that you just couldn't knock down and then one person, someone you didn't know, came up with a tidbit that became your bulldozer?

Transcribing is NOT for everyone. Also, there are personal lives that must come first. You do not need to live in the area. You can be anywhere in the world. You just need your computer and a basic knowledge of using a text editor.

Think about it.
