Subject: [MAMiddle] Obituary - today: McLOON / CHENEVERT / DUTNEY
Date: Sat, 15 Dec 2007 07:43:44 -0500
Hello,
I don't usually offer obituaries in "The Lowell Sun" (of which there are
several every day), but do make note of any that are interesting, or which
might help someone.
This morning I saw an obituary for:
Janice CHENEVERT DUTNEY, 86
Lowell native, formerly of Dracut
Sheldon, VT - Janice McLOON CHENEVERT DUTNEY, passed away on Dec. 13,
2007, at her home in Sheldon, after a long illness.
The only child of Dudley Page McLOON and Glendys (EMERSON), she was born on
July 26, 1921, in Lowell. She graduated from Lowell High School and
Colby Sawyer College.
She worked as a secretary in Boston where she met her first husband, Bernard
CHENEVERT. .. They married in 1944. They operated a grocery store in
Lancaster, MA until 1960. She then worked as secretary to the
Superintendent of Lancaster Girls Reform School. In 1967 they moved to
Dracut .. and she worked as a secretary to the Supt. of Schools. Her
husband died in 1968. After his death, she worked as Executive Secretary
to the Board of Selectmen for Dracut. She married Dexter DUTNEY in 1972.
Upon retirement in 1981, she and Dexter moved to Colebrook, NH, where they
lived with her son .. ..... She was a member of "The Daughters of the
American Revolution." Dexter died in 2001. She moved to Sheldon in
2006. ....

I hope this someone. But, I'd also like to comment that this was a busy
lady and I'm pleased that someone made note of her activities and jobs
during her lifetime.
It makes me wonder whether other people have considered writing their own
obituary - so that it would be correct and as detailed as possible -- when
the time comes !
As I just read on one posting this morning, when "the time comes" suddenly
and unexpectedly for a loved one, sometimes the people visiting the
funeral parlor - can't remember the details !
Have a pleasant weekend !
Betty (near Lowell, MA)
P.S. Make sure that all the snow is off - all the important things in
your yard - before the next snowfall - and possible ice !
