Hi Ellie,

As far as I know, someone can go to the "South Middlesex" Registry of Deeds
and the Family & Probate Court in Cambridge and look for "wills" and "land
records." They do not handle "telephone, slow-mail, or e-mail requests"
at all. However, some of us wrote to the "Family & Probate Court" and
requested that they start up a "Genealogy Office."

Maybe 1 1/2 years ago I went to the Registry of Deeds in Cambridge, and
looked up records for the HUTCHINSON Farm in Winchester. Once I found
out the procedure for doing this, I found it relatively easy. That was for
the late 1800's/early 1900's. I didn't have time that day to see what was
available for the 1700's.

(The "North Middlesex" Registry of Deeds is in Lowell.)

Betty (near Lowell, MA)
