Dallas W. Mann, 65, of Loveland died Jan. 19, 2005, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.
He was born June 8, 1939, to Lauren and Pearl (Strong) Mann in Akron, Iowa. He attended school in Sioux City, Iowa. He then joined the U.S. Navy and served from 1957 to 1960.
Dallas married Roberta Dunne on Aug. 16, 1960, in South Sioux City, Neb.
He worked at Carlson Machine Co./Sioux Tools and also for the Sioux City School District Maintenance Department before moving to Fort Collins in 1979. He was then employed by Central Electric and All-Phase Electric before retiring, due to ill health, in 1999.
He was a member of the Northern Colorado Classic Chevy Club. He enjoyed trips to Central City with his daughter Shelly and her husband, Lupe. He loved working on one of his classic cars. He loved going to swap meets with his son Doug and loved watching his children’s sporting events, and playing cribbage. He also loved playing with his grandchildren and his dog, Chester.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Mann of Loveland; three sons, Doug Mann and wife Jill of Fort Collins, Dallas J. “DJ” Mann and wife Lora of Loveland, and Joel Mann and wife Loni of Evans; two daughters, Shelly Arellano and husband Lupe of Wellington, and Sherry Weiss and husband Michael of Macon, Ga.; grandchildren, Courtney Mann of Fort Collins, Dallas D. “Dakota” Mann and Deseray Mann of Loveland, and Zachary Weiss of Macon, Ga., and two grandchildren on the way; six sisters, Donna Cole and husband Bob of Longmont, Sharon Heiner and husband Butch of Longmont, Lorna Stingley and husband Dale of Sioux City, Iowa, Lynette Cook and husband Ralph of Sioux City, Iowa, Sue Mann and husband Richard of Sioux City, Iowa, and Marlene Hunt of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one brother, Steven Mann and wife Violet of Sioux City, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl, and his parents.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, CO 80537.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home.
Cremation will follow services.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Kidney Foundation in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home.
Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
