Yesterday as I read an article entitled "Genealogist to chart claims to ancestry" regarding the Wampanoag Tribe, I immediately thought of the rootsweb lists and all members who do not read the Cape Cod Times. The article discusses lineage of tribal members and refers to an 1859 state census of Native Americans, known as the Earle Report.

I just checked the Cape Cod Times on line archives and found the article here:

Please feel free to pass this on to other appropriate lists. (I have unsubscribed most lists as my genealogy work has taken a back seat for a while. This Plymouth list is the closest to Cape Cod to which I subscribe and the only one to which I am posting this.)
