My husband Richard Fenton Bates is a 7th great grandson of Samuel Bates ( son
of Clement Bate) whose son Samuel, born 28 February 1679/1680 Hingham, died 6
April 1730, buried Agawam Cemetery, Wareham, Ma; married Sarah Churchill.
Richard's line is that of Samuel's brother David.

We don't have an Isreal Cole in our database. There were many Samuel Bates. My
research on the Bates is an ongoing project. I have 14 Samuel Bates in both MA
and ME. About what time period are you talking?
