I've "rescued" a group of photographs and a snapshot photograph album which
all appear to belong to the CHUTE Family of Maine. Those that are
identified are as follows:

1.Mina CHUTE of Monarda, ME, taken at the Brown Studio in Portland, ME,
likely in the 1880's with Mina appearing to be in her teens or early 20's

2."Sister Mina" to "Sister Gertrude", no studio or loc., photo of two young
women + young man, one young woman may be Mina CHUTE in photo above

3.Mr. Charley CHUTE of Monarda, ME, taken at the Turner Studio in Boston,
MA, probably in the 1880's with Charley appearing to be in his 20's or 30's
at the time.

4.Another photograph which appears to be Charley CHUTE pictured above,
taken at Dunshee Studio in Boston, MA, 1870's or 1870's, appears to be
younger than photo above

5.Chandler CHUTE, taken at Barnes Studio in Island Falls, ME, early 1900's
with Chandler appearing to be in his 20's or 30's at the time.

6."Chandler", taken at the F.C. Nealey Photo Studio, no location, 1890's,
in his teens

7."CHUTE", no studio or loc., taken in the early 1900's, woman in her 50's
or 60's. Another large photograph of this woman with a horse is also
included and is inside a frame.

8.Three Photos of young man taken at the F.C. Nealey Photo Studio, no
location, name Pearl CHUTE appears on the back, could "Pearl" be a mans
name?, photo probably taken in the 1890's with man appearing to be in his
20's or 30's

9.Photo of same man as noted above, no studio or loc., taken in 1870's or
1880's, looks to be in his 20's at the time

10.Photo of young man with name Charley CHUTE of Monarda, ME on back, taken
in 1890's, looks to be in his early teens, I'm thinking the photograph was
probably a gift to Charley CHUTE

Eleven other photographs are unidentified, but appear to have come from the
same family including more photographs of children from the F.C. Nealey
Photo Studio, photos of female children taken at the same time as #9 above,
Young woman taken at the Curtis G. Ross Studio in Lewiston, ME, Young woman
from J.K. Chase Studio with no location which could be same woman
photographed in photo #1 above, Young Mother and child taken at Sunbeam
Studio in New York City, photo of older man on advertising for Webb's Blue
Store in Norway, ME, and snapshots of people at farm houses.

The black snapshot photograph album includes approximately 26 snap shots and
postcard photographs all appearing to be taken from about 1910-1940, various
subjects, locations, etc. Most are glued into the album so I have no idea
if there is anything written on the back of the photographs. A Christmas
postcard included in the album was addressed to Mrs. Mina CHUTE of Monarda,
ME from C.H. CHUTE and mailed from Brockton, MA on 12 December 1916. A news
article regarding a dog that waited years from his dead master to return is
also included in the book.

Based on limited research and the kind assistance of a couple of CHUTE
Family researchers, I believe that the photographs likely belong to the
family of Charles Franklin & Mina MESERVE CHUTE who were living in Casco, ME
during the 1880 census along with a son Charles H. CHUTE age 2. Charles
Franklin CHUTE was listed as 36 years old at the time and Mina MESERVE CHUTE
only 18 years of age. All born in Maine to Maine born parents.

Charles Franklin CHUTE was the son of Freedom CHUTE b. 1812 of Casco, ME and
Mary Ann MCLUCAS b. 1 March 1816 in Casco, ME the daughter of Jeremiah
MCLUCAS b. 1786 to parents John MCLUCAS and Peggy BROWN. Mary Ann's brother
married Cynthia CHUTE. Freedom & Mary Ann MCLUCAS CHUTE had 6 children
including, Martha A., Ruth, Lydia J., Charles F., Elvira and Leander.

I also find record of Chandler L. CHUTE b. 19 June 1884 in Maine and died 1
Feb 1964 in Milo, Maine. In addition I've located a Pearl Rebecca CHUTE
died in Bucksport, Maine on 29 Apr 1991 at the age of 87. I'm hoping to
locate someone from this CHUTE Family so that the group of photographs can
be returned to the family.

If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please
contact me.

Thanks,
Shelley
