John,

Could it be 'Blacksmith'??

I have the service record of a WW1 Navy Chief Petty Officer which has him initially as BLK SMT, and later Blacksmith II, BLK I then Ch. BLK on various HM ships.

Regards

Dawn

Greetings,

Can anyone throw any light on the status of this man, recipient of the Ashantee Medal.
Medal rim engraved: J. McMILLAN, BLK S.T.H H.M.S. HIMALAYA 73-74 (The letters S.T.H being superscript). What
do the letters "BLK S.T.H" stand for and can anyone point me to where I might find out more about this man.

Many thanks,
John
