Rhoda, did your Josiah ever live on Trammel Creek, Allen County, Kentucky?
There was one there in 1835. He owned quite a bite of land.
Kay in Southern Illinois
>From what I've been able to collect on the whereabouts of my Josiah line...he
had received a land grant for 100 acres of land in Cabell Co, VA, along with
son, John (also my line), in 1834. In 1840, he is living with son, John, in
Lawrence Co KY, where he received his pension. In 1846, it is said that he
died. So I think he was too old and feeble to be the Josiah that was down in
Allen Co, KY. I looked on the map and it's just too far, with no links for him
to have gone there.
But as I mentioned....there seem to be a few old Josiah's
1-There is the Josiah b. abt 1790, living in Lee Co, VA
2-In the Tennessee area.. Josiah Markham married a Barbara Sherrill December
1834
I know there are a couple more, but just can't remember them or find them now.
