I'm new to this list and wonder if anyone is related to the MARCHALs who were
from Petitmagny in the Alsace Lorraine area of France and came to Stark
County OH, then Darke County OH about 1830. The family was Catholic.

Immigrants were:

Nicolas Valentin MARCHAL and wife Jeanne Marie REINICHE
Their children: Marie Therese
Jacob
Marguerite
Nicholas
Marie Francois
George
Marie Catherine
Jean Claude
Marie
Joseph (born at sea)
Jane (born in this country)
Marie (born in this country.

Some of the descendants used the MARSHALL spelling. Many stayed in Darke
County Ohio, then moved to Grant County Indiana. Some moved to Idaho and
were instrumental in developing the potato industry.

Please let me know if you have any information on this family or any
descendants.
