I have bits and pieces of references in my notes that may help. Here are 3 items
that reference research material that may be available somewhere. I did not
write one syllable of what follows, except for the heading, this is just stuff I
picked up along the way. Good luck - Dan

The book by A. C. Quisenberry then states on page 111:

It also appears from the will that Humphrey Quisenberry's daughter Anne had
married a Piper; his daughter Mary married John Marshall. This John Marshall was
the brother of Colonel Thomas Marshall (so prominent and famous in the early
history of Kentucky) and the uncle of the great Chief Justice of the Supreme
Court of the United States, who was named in his honor. John Marshall and Mary
Quisenberry, his wife, were the parents of Humphrey Marshall, who was a Senator
in Congress from Kentucky, 1795 - 1801, and author of the famous "Marshall's
History of Kentucky" ; and he was altogether the most unique and interesting
character in the early history of Kentucky and in the early history of the
United States as well. Humphrey Marshall married his first cousin, Mary Ann,
daughter of Colonel Thomas Marshall, and sister of Chief Justice John Marshall.

From "Genealogical Chart of the Marshall Family" as shown in the book "The
Marshall Family" published by W. M. Paxton in 1885:

John Marshall and Elizabeth Markham were the parents of the John Marshall (d.
1805) who married Jane Guisenbury, and who was the father of: James, John, Jane,
Nancy, Humphrey, Mary (m. Thomas Whittington), and Elizabeth (m. Samuel
January). Note: Paxton's Jane Guisenbury, wife of John Marshall, was actually
Mary Quisenberry.

Part of a tree I found somewhere:

John Marshall (John2, Thomas1); b. 1732 in Westmoreland Co., VA;
m. Mary Quisenbury, daughter of Humphrey Quesenbury; d. 1800 in
Kentucky.
He resided at Bourbon Co., KY.
Known children of John Marshall and Mary Quisenbury include:
i. Capt. Humphrey Marshall; b. 1756 in Virginia; m.
Mary Ann Marshall, daughter of Col. Thomas
Marshall and Mary Randolph Keith, circa 1784 in
Virginia; d. 1 Jul 1841 at Frankfort, Kentucky.
He was a captain in the Revolutionary War. He was
a member of the Convention that ratified the U.S.
Constitution at Virginia. He was a member of the
State Legislature at Kentucky. He was a US Senator
between 1795 and 1801in Kentucky. He was an
historian - Published first history of Kentucky in
1812. He fought a duel with Henry Clay. He resided
in Frankfort, KY.
