Hi again John
First of all, I have discovered why I could not track Tom down. In the 1901
census he is listed as MarLin and not MarTin.
You are right in that Fanny's parents were indeed James and Emma Haines.
They ran the Fox Inn in Denchworth, where Fanny was born. I have her school
reports etc. James was a shepherd prior to that. Emma died in 1902 and James
then went out to Sydney and started a bus company. The family followed in
1913.
I agree that there is a similarity between Haies and Haines, but I don't
think they are the same people. Emma Haies was born in Fulham Middlesex in
1820 [supposedly] whilst Emma Haines was born in Sparsholt Berks in 1846.
Now as to her parents, she is the daughter of John Haines & Phoebe Ackrill,
confirmed by other researchers as well.
I have no problems on most lines, its just Tom being awkward.
Thanks for all your help. It would be nice to assist you if I could
Regards
Steve

Steve,
You mentioned Emma HAIES in a previous email. I believe these could be
Fanny's parents...
