According to his Civil War pension application (on-line) John Perry
STRICKLAND was born 30 Oct 1846 in Jefferson Co FL and died 7 Oct 1917 in
Jefferson Co FL. He enlisted Apr 1862 in Co G, 5th Fla Inf Rgmt. After he
died, his wife Elizabeth Eugenia ROUCH drew a widow's pension. She was born
31 Aug 1860 FL and died 4 Jan 1952 FL. They were married 26 Dec 1888 in
Jefferson Co FL.

I suspect that John Perry STRICKLAND was the son of Vincent STRICKLAND and
Manerva POPPELL. Living next door to that family in the 1850 census was a
Wiley GRICE and Elizabeth POPPELL family (with STRICKLAND children), with
Elizabeth probably being the widow of John STRICKLAND. Who were John
STRICKLAND and Vincent STRICKLAND?
