Ann, would he have been working long enough that he might have gotten social security? Not sure how much you could learn that way, but possibly a clue on where he died so you could get a death certificate. Have you been able to pick him up on census records?

The mysteries are the most fun, I think, but they sure can be maddening sometimes too. Good luck!
