DEBBYE & DAVID......... In Brighton then, 1938, there was a commercial
horse stable right in Brighton center at Market St. It was owned by the
McKinney family who lived next door to the stable. Once a week, usually
during the spring/summer, the McKinney's conducted horse auctions. People
came from near & far to attend these auctions. It was generally a
carnival atmosphere with kids running around, barkers selling whatever,
buyers & sellers of horses, riding demostrations, auctions etc. It was
great fun to attend. What I'm getting to is your father's (mother's) pix
may have been taken at one of these auctions. Now, of course, the
McKinney's, the stable & the horse auctions have all GWTW. By the way,
what was your fathers (mothers) name? I was in Brighton then.

Note to : LWICK: I, as well, remember the "any old rags" & "knife
sharpener" guy's.

Hello Debbye,

I have a similar picture of my mother and her brother and sister.
However,
my picture dates in the late 1920s. The picture I have is of a dark pony
with
saddle taken in a residential area. Other than the picture there are no
identifying marks, labels or names. The picture is mounted in a
decorative
cardboard frame of the era. My mother, during this time, also lived in
Brighton, MA.

Hope this helps.

Good Hunting.
