Has anyone on the list recently visited any of the state offices where wills
and probate are stored? I haven't done any such research since 1984 - I am
not sure where to go and what the procedure is now. It used to be similar
to the archives, I believe - you looked up things in an index and told the
person in the research area what you wanted, they copied the will for you.
My research at the time was for the 1870s. There was an "old side" and a
"new side". I remember attending the "old side". It was either in the
State House or in the old court house nearby.

Anyone able to offer a refresher on Suffolk Cty or State of MA
wills/probate?
